Friday Favorites

Hello friends!!  Happy Friday!  I am so excited to be sharing my first Friday Favorites post of 2019.  It feels great to be "back in the blogging saddle again" and to be kicking off my very first Friday Favorites post with The Suburban Style Life blog.  Per usual, I am linking up with Erika, Andrea and Narci and sharing with you all of my favorites this past week and looking forward to reading all about yours.

Today I am linking up with the awesome Erika, Narci and Andrea for another Friday Favorites.  It's a fun way to recap your favorite happenings of the week!

Give me all the vests this season!  It is such a quick and easy way to look put together even when all you want to do is wear your pajamas all day.  Old Navy is my go to place lately for vests, I love their puffer and quilted styles.

Another things I am loving this season is animal print!!!  It adds so much visual interest to an outfit and truly is all the rage right now.  I ordered the above cardigan from Amazon (score!) and the booties below can be found at your local Walmart.

If you have been reading my blog for awhile now, you all know I have been following The Bachelor franchise since the days of Alex Michel and Trista.  Every year, the show just seems to get better and better and this season so far is proving to be another masterpiece.

The Bachelor is pretty much the ONLY TV show I will make time for.  That and anything Hallmark that is :). It's that good and pretty much how little time I have to watch TV :) If you love the Bachelor, then you need to read the recaps from Sheaffer Told Me Too blog.  She is a genius and so, so funny!

What did Mom's do before Pinterest?  I truly don't want to find out.  For Nicholas's 100 Days of School project, requested a Minecraft version so to Pinterest I went.  Sure enough, there were all kinds of ideas to make his vision a reality.  I have to say, I am pretty proud on how it turned out!!

I have been trying to ease into eating healthier this week which I am sure a lot of you have as well.  We finally bid farewell to the endless amounts of dips and Christmas cookies that seemed to be a staple in our diet and now trying to replace them with healthier options.  When I am not in the mood for a salad, I will typically whip up a quick and easy stir fry without the rice.  It is also VERY similar to my Turkey Sausage and Noodles recipe.  My recent favorite consists of only four ingredients: olive oil,  turkey sausage, onions and peas.  It's super easy and low carb which I love.  It fills you up and is the perfect healthy option when you are just not feeling like a salad.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!!!

Happy 2019 friends!!!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your friends and family and are looking forward to 2019 as much as I am.  First of all, I am thrilled to be back to blogging.  The last few months of 2018 brought a lot of changes and challenges with it and the one thing that has been on my heart through it all is how much I missed blogging and the community that comes with it.  I started this little ole' blog back in 2006 and so much has changed since then.  Not to mention I have a lot of outdated links and information on here!!  I will get to updating all of it soon, and in the meantime, excited to reconnect with all of you once again.  Why not kick off the blogging 2019 season by recapping my 9 top Instagram posts of 2018?

For me, Instagram had basically turned into my blog, it's a snapshot of our daily life and things I am currently loving.  It has also evolved into a Style and Beauty blog among anything.  As you can see, 8 of the 9 most popular Instagram posts of 2018 were of me sharing with all of you a favorite outfit.  Although most of the shopping links are from the Summer and no longer valid, I wanted to share with you all a few details about each outfit and where I purchased them from.  A few of the items I have linked are surprisingly still in stock.

Leopard Shoes - The infamous Walmart Leopard Shoes are a current staple in my closet and one of the items I receive the most comments about.  They really are as beautiful in person as they are in the photo.  Who would have thought Walmart would carry such a high quality, leopard bootie?
