2019 Best of Suburban Style Life

Happy New Years friends!  So hard to believe it is officially 2020.  The past few months flew by in a blur hence the reason for my last blog post in April.  I am so excited for a more consistent blogging schedule for this year and thought it would be fun to recap the Top 10 most popular items you all shopped for in 2019!  Spoiler alert...I was surprised that the Top 8 were all from Amazon!  This was surprising to me considering I do most of my posts with Old Navy pieces with a few from Target and Amazon sprinkled in here and there.  I certainly know now what I need to focus on for 2020!

For those of you who are new to SSL, I post most of my outfit details on Facebook and Instagram and also run two very fun Facebook groups.  If you are here for the fashion and deals, you will love The Suburban Style Life, if you are a makeup junkie with some fashion finds sprinkled in, you will love the Karen Tucci Beauty & Style group.

2019 Best of Suburban Style Life

My Top 10 items are based on stats from my ShopStyle Collective account.  So without any further ado, let's dive into what you all were shopping for in 2019!

I am not surprised that a luxe item from Old Navy made the Top 10.  If you don't own a Luxe item, your closet is truly missing out.  Nothing beats the high quality fabric for the inexpensive price.  And they wash so well and barely ever wrinkle!  And the biggest plus?  It's one of the rare white pieces that will not show your bra.  Nothing is worse then finding a white top that you love and you can see your bra through it, no matter what color your bra is.  I typically layer my luxe pieces under a cardigan or vest during the colder months or alone when it's warmer.  They are so versatile! Old Navy's luxe line comes in swing tanks, short sleeve tee or long sleeve tee.

These pull on jeggings from Old Navy have forever changed how I will wear jeans. You just can't beat the no button waist band, all of your tops lay flat and smooth. And who doesn't need that after the holidays? Pure genius! I own them in black, white and denim, distressed and regular.  They are truly that amazing!

This adorable multi print Christmas Tree raglan tee really won your hearts.  I only shared it once and it was a huge hit.  One reader had asked me if the colors had bled through, she was hesitant to buy it due to a review she had read, and I am happy to report it did not for me.  I washed mine in cold and hung to dry and it is all ready to be worn for next Christmas.

I love this K necklace and still wear it practically every day.  It's the perfect statement necklace that can be worn daily and with any outfit.

These next few items have me longing for those warm, Summer days at the pool.  This cover up was a popular blogger favorite and I have to agree.  It's very flattering and comes in several colors to match any bathing suit attire.

If I had to choose, this bathing suit is the clear winner of 2019.  I was so skeptical about purchasing a bathing suit from Amazon but let me tell you how glad I am.  It is probably the most flattering swim suit I have ever owned and that includes the pre-Mom days of my 20's. I loved it so much, I bought it in both black and this bright blue color.  Several friends of mine at our neighborhood pool have asked me for the link to this suit and that is by far the biggest compliment to me.  You truly can't go wrong with this suit!  For sizing, you will most likely want to go up one size based on the reviews.  I typically wear a Size 6 in dresses and ordered a Size 8, it was perfect.

I absolutely love dressing up a Summer outfit with statement earrings, however, I can not wear heavy earrings.  That is why I love these multi-colored boho statement earrings.  They are super light, amazing quality, and won't break your budget.

This hair dryer from Revlon is the clear winner for hair gadgets in 2019.  It hit the blogger world by storm last Spring and I can see why.  I use it on both myself and my ten year old daughter.

I love it for her because it cuts down on tangles and smooths out her hair, the bristles are similar to the wet brush so it rarely tangles.  For myself, I barely ever flat iron my hair anymore before I curl it, it has cut down on a lot of styling time for me.  One thing I will recommend for us thick haired ladies is to dry your hair for 5-10 minutes beforehand with a regular hair dryer just to take out some of the excess water.

I was so excited to add these statement earrings to my collection last Spring, a good pair of statement earrings can truly transform and outfit from boring to amazing!  And these do just that!  I also love the fun leopard print.  These earrings are also very light and won't hurt your ears.

Drum roll please!!!  And the winner of the Suburban Style Life top purchased item for 2019 is the Louis Vuitton inspired Daisy Tote.  You all loved this tote and I personally own one in this brown color and the cream.  The brown is perfect for everyday and I use the cream during the Summer months.  Nothing beats a sturdy, good quality tote and you couldn't beat the price.  A big should out to my friend Gina, I ran into her at church during Christmas mass and she was carrying the Daisy Tote!  I am sad to report though that this item has not been restocked for some time and the link is no longer available on Amazon.  You all know I will be keeping you posted if it ever does come back, be sure you are following my Facebook page and are a part of my Beauty and Style group for all the latest updates.

Did any of your 2019 favorites make the list?  What were some of your favorites that didn't?  I would love to hear from you in the comments below.

What I Wore | April 2019

Hello friends and happy Wednesday!  I hope you are all having a great week.  I am so excited that maybe, just maybe, the warmer weather might be finally sticking around.  I am SO ready to ditch my Winter coat and layers :)  Before we got too deep into May, I wanted to share with all of you a summary of what I wore in April along with what YOU all loved by what you clicked on the most.  Y'all truly love your Amazon accessories!!!  So grab a cup of coffee (or wine!) as I share a few highlights from April.

Without a doubt, this Daisy Rose Tote was the most your most popular item and I can't say that I blame you one bit!  I absolutely love this purse, it's what I carry every day, and I also bought it in the Cream check in April.  It now even comes in a Black and Gray check which I may just have to give in and purchase that one too :)

These Tortoise Shell earrings from Amazon were a close second and for the price, you can't afford to have these earrings in your arsenal for the Summer.  They are the perfect statement earring to add a pop of pattern to any outfit and they are super light.  I just love them and wear them every chance I get.

And if you love the statement earring trend this Summer, check out these other options I rounded up.  All super light, amazing quality, and they won't break your budget.  The multi-color bohemian tassel earrings were a close second to the tortoise shell for April.  Both are a great addition to any outfit and I absolutely love how you can wear the bohemian tassels with so many different outfits!

This large initial necklace has been a top seller ever since The Suburban Style Life was born.  I wear this necklace on the daily and receive so many compliments on it.  I love that it's big enough to wear as a statement piece and is so versatile to wear every day.  And for less than $10 on Amazon, you just can't go wrong!

Y'all truly love your accessories, especially from Amazon.  I totally get it!!  I do too :)  Now on to the clothing...

This adorable wrap dress from Target was a huge find for me in April, I found it on a clearance rack so sadly it is sold out on line, however, it may be sitting on your local Target's clearance rack too, just waiting for you to buy it :)  It's such a flattering fit and I love the longer sleeves for unpredictable weather this time of year.

These white, pull on jeggings from Old Navy are fast becoming a staple in my closet.  I rarely grab for my button up white jeggings anymore.  The elastic waist band front is just pure genius, no more button or zipper poking out from underneath your top.

These Olive jeans from Old Navy were perfect for that awkward transitional stage from Winter to Spring.  You can truly wear them with clothing from any season which I love!!!  My only regret is not purchasing them sooner when they came in a pull on version like my white jeans!

I fell in love with Kimono's last Summer and couldn't be more thrilled they are also on trend for this Spring and Summer.  They are perfect for throwing on in an over air conditioned room and dress up any ordinary outfit.  They also look great with shorts or a bathing suit!

I hope you all enjoyed this little walk down memory lane!  April was a fun month for The Suburban Style Life, can't wait to see what y'all are loving in May.

Top Statement Earrings from Amazon

Hello friends, Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I am slowly recovering from hosting Nicholas's birthday party, 9 little boys at an ice arena.  There were hockey sticks and pucks flying all over the place!  LOL!!  He had a great time though, hockey is slowly turning his favorite sport and I am loving his passion for it.

Amazon is slowly turning into my favorite place to shop for earrings.  I love that the statement earring trend has continued on from last year and very excited to add to my collection.  A good pair of statement earrings can truly transform and outfit from boring to amazing!  Although statement earrings can look heavy or uncomfortable to wear, these are all very light.

I am also loving my Bamboo bag which is also a new favorite from Amazon!  I have seen these adorable bags all around Instagram and though what a perfect piece to serve as a backdrop for a photo and for the perfect Summer date night!

Are you loving the statement earrings trend?  Where do you love to shop for earrings?  I would love to know!!  Drop your recommendation in the comments below.

Have a great Tuesday!!

My Top 6 Spring Casual Shoes

Happy Friday friends!I hope you are all having a great week.  Has Spring sprung for you yet?  We are certainly experiencing the temperature roller coaster that this season brings with it.  Snow one day, sunshine and warm weather the next.  You know it's Spring when you are washing sweatshirts and shorts all in the same load of laundry!

I am excited to share with you my Top 6 casual shoes to transition us from Winter to Spring. Is anyone else excited at the thought of retiring your Winter boots for the season? I am SO ready!!  All of these shoes are under $60 and closed toe so even though you are Spring ready, your pedicured toes (or lack there of) don't have to be just yet.  LOL!!

I am absolutely loving my new black wedge tennis shoes from Payless, I was able to snag a pair before they sadly went out of business.  No worries if you didn't have a chance to grab a pair, I found pretty much the same pair over on Amazon.

I am also loving my new leopard print canvas shoes from Target and know I will be getting a lot of use out of them this Spring.

I purchased my Converse Chucks last Spring and they look as good as new!  They hold up really well and go with perfectly with both jeans and shorts.  I love how they give a pop of white to any outfit.

I am so in love with these black quilted sneakers from Target.  They are a comfortable pair of slip ons that look great with leggings.  If you want to dress up your outfit a little more than just throwing on a pair of tennis shoes, then these shoes are exactly what you need!  They also come in 4 other colors, including a muted blush, the hot spring color.  I may have to grab another pair in that color!

I fell in love with these Target taupe Ankle Booties this Winter and love that they are versatile enough for Spring.   They look adorable with any color of denim and truly dress up any look.

I have been wanting a pair of these Grand Court Adidas sneakers since they started trending last Summer, they look absolutely adorable with leggings and are super comfy.  The perfect shoe for running errands or to your kiddos sports activity.  I grabbed mine at TJMaxx or you can grab yourself a pair at DSW.  They are always having sales and your can earn $10 off your first order by subscribing to their email list!

Have an amazing weekend and a blessed Easter!

What I Wore | March 2019

Happy Thursday friends!  I hope you are all having a fabulous week.  I wanted to take a moment to recap what I wore in March, along with a few cute looks from February.  Here in Cleveland, March wasn't super snowy, however, it was super COLD!  It was hard to even think about wearing anything that didn't include fleece but I do have a few cute looks that I am excited to share with you today!  I can't wait to put away those warm fleece pieces this weekend as we are expecting seasonably warm temps.

This outfit is pretty much my dressy "Mom Uniform" when I want to look put together.  The top is the infamous Nordstrom Roll Sleeve Tunic.  I absolutely love this top, so much that I own it in FOUR different colors...cream, black, burgundy and teal.  It truly is the perfect top that you can dress up or down.  And you are in luck!!  Nordstrom Rack is now carrying this top in a wide array of colors!  I always wear it with a tank or cami underneath because it is slightly sheer.  Jeans are Old Navy skinnies in a dark blue wash, leopard booties are from Wal Mart.

Here is the same look I wore here back in December.  Such a versatile top!

March was all about wearing our green!  This cardigan is one of my favorites, it's light weight and super versatile for Spring.  I purchased it from Jane and loved it so much, I have it in a few colors.  The perfect layering piece!  My distressed jeans are from Old Navy, the peep toe Booties from Kohl's.

Surprisingly, one of my favorite finds for March is this green striped mariner top from Old Navy.  Jeans are Old Navy skinnies in a dark blue wash, ankle booties are Target.

Which look is your favorite?  Comment below!
Have a fabulous Thursday friends!!
