A Day in the Life of our Neighborhood

I wanted to dedicate this post to the hard working Amish men that travel here every day from their farms to build our new homes. This is the one thing that I witness every day in my life since moving here and I felt the need to mention them. Mostly because as I write this post on my day off, they are pounding away outside my front door building my neighbors home.
We are up by 7am every morning whether we want to be or not. The morning is kicked off by the constant pounding of hammers, the shrill sound of a saw cutting into wood, and the loud motors of large trucks delivering their supplies. One would think that the housing market slump was not even an issue around here. We moved in as the only residents on this cul-de-sac and that changed very quickly. I really enjoy seeing all the new homes go up. I also love to see what each family selects as "their colors", seeing what floor plan they have chosen and seeing who the new neighbors are. There are times when I will wish this whole new construction phase away as I look forward to having a yard to enjoy and for the pool and clubhouse to finally be built, but for now I am really enjoying the constant change and excitement around here. Here are a few pictures of the Amish men building the new house next door to us and the new homes under construction on the other side of the cul-de-sac from us. It amazes me how things change every day around here in which I am very grateful just to be here to witness all of it.
